2026 KAMSA YOUTH ORCHESTRA AUDITION

The Korean American Music Supporters’ Association (KAMSA) holds annual auditions to discover and support talented young musicians from the Bay Area. This year, internationally acclaimed pianist Yekwon Sunwoo, 2017 Van Cliburn Gold Medalist, will appear as the guest soloist at KAMSA’s 36th Annual Youth Orchestra Concert.

Online applications for the Youth Symphony Orchestra auditions will be accepted from March 22 through April 5. Selected musicians will have the opportunity to join a full symphony orchestra and perform on a major stage as part of this inspiring concert event.

2026 Guest Solo Pianist

KAMSA proudly presents its 36th Annual Youth Orchestra Concert on August 15, featuring guest solo pianist Yekown Sunwoo. Celebrate outstanding young musicians in a vibrant program capped by a special solo performance.

Yekwon Sunwoo is an internationally acclaimed pianist and the Gold Medalist of the 2017 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, celebrated for his luminous tone, poetic insight, and commanding virtuosity. His artistry combines crystalline clarity with expressive warmth, making him one of the standout pianists of his generation.

Gene Chang

2026 Youth Orchestra Conductor

Gene Chang is a Korean American conductor of symphonic, opera, and chamber music. His performance experience embraces an extensive span of repertoire from Bach to Ellington, Mozart to Adams, and Stravinsky to Mancini. Honored twice by the Solti Foundation US, Gene was named a Florentine Opera Resident for 2017 and awarded the coveted Career Assistance Grant in 2016. Gene served as Assistant and Associate Conductor of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra (CSO) from 2015 to 2019.
