Dr. Jong Hoon Bae began his musical studies on the violin at age 9. He commenced composition at age 19,
studying with Katameir. Orchestral conducting under Ostereicher was at the Vienna Music Academy in Austria.
Upon moving to California he earned a Master's degree and a Doctor of Music, both in conducting at UCLA.
Dr. Bae has received worldwide critical acclaim at concerts in Europe, South Korea and the U.S. He also has wide
range of conducting experiences in choir, marching band, orchestra and opera. Recent appearances have been at famous
halls in Los Angeles, such as Royce Hall and the Walt Disney Concert Hall.
Currently Dr. Bae serves as Music Director & Conductor of the South Bay Opera, L.A. Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra,
and as regular guest conductor of the St. Petersburg Stage Academic Symphony and the St. Petersburg State Hermitage
Orchestra.
